YOGASHAKTI STORIES

Story 1

Rohit Kantura

Srijan Student,

2005 - 2010

Rohit.jpg

Who knew that shy, thin boy of six would grow up to be an aspiring CA?

As soon as Rohit was born in the Garhwali village of Rivoli, his mother moved with him to join his father in Dehradun. Rohit joined us in Pre-school, and stayed with us for 5 years. Soon after he started at Srijan, we realized Rohit was showing early signs of dyslexia. We consulted with Dr. Pawan Saini, expert clinical psychologist, and used special education techniques to help Rohit cope up with his learning milestones. The Sand Pit and other Montessori Activities featured in his daily school routine. But none of it would have worked without his one-pointed eagerness to learn. Rohit is still connected to the Srijan family, and we are rooting for his growth & happiness in life!

Story 2

Chahak Kashyap

Srijan Student,

2006 - 2013

Chahak.jpg

"I want to become an IPS officer when I grow up."

Chahak Kashyap was a student with Srijan Public School from Grade 1 to Grade 8, and it has been such a pleasure to watch her blossom into a self-confident, young lady! Her knowledge base, her ability to participate in programs, and her curiosity grew leaps and bounds everyday.

When Chahak had to move schools for Class IX, she found it difficult because her new school did not give the kind of inputs she got with us. Her memories of growth and learning rest with us. And we believe her strong base will help her realise her dreams going forward!

Story 3

Parents' Pride Student,

2006 - 2007

"From Pizza Hut and Post Office outings to a budding pianist"

“When I was 3 years old, we moved to Dehradun for some financial reasons. My mother used to run a small restaurant from home to support my father. She looked for a school for me which was near our house, and came across Parents’ Pride. There, I met Suman ma’am. She taught me like her own son. Luckily, I was also the first student of the school. So she was very fond of me.

She took me and my classmates to Pizza Hut and other places for outings. For knowledge, she used to take us to the Post Office and orphanages and many more places. She taught us to cook in the school  kitchen, and never made me feel like I was just a student in her school. Her love for all the children was priceless. She was the perfect teacher, and I have not met such a loving and caring person till now. Love you, ma’am, and I will surely make you proud with your teachings and blessings.’’

Arnav came to us as  a tiny toddler...and a very scared one at that! His grandfather would wait till the School Session was on. That was the only way he could be retained. Our sole aim was to make him comfortable. We introduced any new activity very carefully! Watching him grow over time into a happy, grounded child was so fulfilling. He hopes to be a pianist one day, and we cannot wait to cheer him on stage!

Shubha Gupta

Yoga Student

“Mrs. Bhatia has a vast knowledge of Yoga. I learnt Yoga from her for a long time, which made my body very flexible. I learnt a different aspect of Yoga where breath is the basis of all practices. Not exercise, not a workout alone, but a customised way of following a Yoga Practice to keep me happy and healthy.

I work with Mutual Funds as a financial advisor and have domestic responsibilities to deal with. These practices help me to cope up, and that counts! I have tried another class in the locality but not found it satisfying after the method at Yogashakti”.

Pawan Panwar

Srijan Student,

2007 - 2016

Pawan Panwar.jpg

‘When a smile is the greatest reward!’

When Pawan joined us in Playgroup at the tender age of 4, he seldom smiled. He found it difficult to concentrate on the class lessons. We got his IQ test done to confirm any signs of learning disabilities. After working with clinical psychologist Dr. Pawan Saini, we developed an IEP curriculum for him. His response to our efforts was encouraging!

As a result of the personalised attention, his involvement in activities increased. By the time he reached Class VIII and passed out of Srijan, he was one of our best students. He participated in extracurricular activities and gave speeches in English. And most importantly, from his withdrawn and confused nature, he turned into a happy, bright child! While working with him, our greatest reward was when he smiled! Today, he is all set to join college.

Nehaa Rani

Srijan Student,

2012 - 2019

Neha.jpg

The first student to be awarded the Srijan Girl Child scholarship with dreams to fly high!

“I joined Srijan Public School in 2012 in grade 1. Initially, I was not so good in studies. But the teachers worked hard with me to make me a successful student.  The atmosphere of school was very good. It felt like a family. I studied here for 8 years completely free of cost. All of us always used to learn something new. There was discipline, but the teachers were also very creative & used to make sure we understood everything. The principal of this school is also very sweet and friendly. I miss the Srijan family dearly. ”

They were all great, and you made it all possible for us in a small school. No one would have ever done that for us. Thanks, thanks, thanks a lot for everything! The students of Srijan are very grateful to you."

Nehaa currently wishes to become an air hostess, and will enroll in training to achieve great exposure and heights from here on!

Mehak Kashyap

Warm Teachers’ Day 2019 wishes from Mehak, 10 years after passing out from Srijan:

"I don't need a special day to thank my teachers and you, Suman ma’am. Thank you for starting such a fantastic school, where I learnt the lessons of life from you.

The teachers you chose for us are beyond compare. You brought great teachers from everywhere for us, even out of the country. I still remember that Math teacher, she was so awesome! And Santika ma’am taught us the Indonesian dance. Harisona ma’am improved our English and communication. Yoga lessons, meditation, English classes, extra educational games, shanti mantras, mind relaxing exercises, we got so much! Aarushi ma’am was our English teacher in class 8, and she also taught us moral lessons, art and craft, and paInting.

They were all great, and you made it all possible for us in a small school. No one would have ever done that for us. Thanks, thanks, thanks a lot for everything! The students of Srijan are very grateful to you."
